Dimitris Spouras

Dimitris a young clarinettist and conductor. 

He was born in Thessaloniki, Greece (1989), and started his musical studies at the Stavroupoli Conservatory in Thessaloniki in the Clarinet class of F. Terzis and additional specialisation in Harmony, counter-point and fuga in the classes of P. Bekiaridis and O. Solomonidou, respectively.

In 2010 Dimitris followed a Master class Orchestra Conducting with M.Makraki, and in 2011 he started studying Orchestra Conducting at the Royal conservatory of Antwerp in the class of Prof. Ivo Venkov. 

In 2014, Dimitris followed another Master Class in Orchestra Conducting, this time under G. Vagianos, and in the same year he won the first price in the  first 'Hellenic Orchestra Conducting Competition' with the Thessaloniki State Orchestra.

Dimitris has experience in conducting the State orchestra of Tessaloniki and the 2015 Summer project Camerata Europaea in Athens and formed, together with a number of other musicians the chamber orchestra Antwerpen Camerata of which he assumes the positions of Chief Conductor and Artistic Director.
